Essential Requirements

• Ensure independent reporting and practise in all sub specialty but closely with consultants and other members of the radiology team to deliver high-quality patient care and diagnostic accuracy.
  
• Fulfil on-call service commitments as a middle-grade doctor.
  
• Actively participate in regular audit, multidisciplinary team (SMDT), and research meetings.
  

• Develop and strengthen independent radiological skillsets at advanced level in core general radiological, including the ability to report and perform general radiological scan and Ultrasound examinations. 
  
• It is expected that the applicant will have a basic level of proficiency report basic radiological scans and perform general US scans.
  
• He/ She will gradually advance to proficiency where the candidate can teach and perform more complex cases in the above core Radiology procedures.
  
• The candidate will be expected to clear FRCR finals by the end of his appointment tenure.
  
• Provide guidance and supervision to junior doctors and radiographers including reporting radiographers.
  
• Collaborate with other Clinical colleagues to ensure emergency care provision especially during on calls.
  

• Actively participate in clinical research, including patient recruitment and data collection.
  
• Contribute to audit projects, evaluating and improving radiological services.
  
• Stay updated with current research and advancements in radiological treatments.
  
• Participate in research meetings and present findings.
  

• Provide supervision and guidance to junior doctors and Radiographers, including reporting radiographers.
  
• Maintain learning logs and participate in continuing professional development activities as per CESR requirements to achieve this by 2025-26
  
• Contribute to the professional development of junior doctors and healthcare professionals through teaching and mentoring.

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in medicine recognised by GMC.
   
  
• Postgraduate qualification in Radiology at master’s Level
  
  
  
• Have clear time-bound plans and intention to pass the FRCR exams and attain CESR in Radiology within 2 years of starting this post.
  

• FRCR Part 1 Radiology
  

• Wider experience in clinical assessment of radiological patients, managing acute radiological emergency.
  
  
• Experience commensurate with the level of senior Radiology registrar (Achieved competency as equal to ST5 in Radiology as per the CCT curriculum in UK)
  

• Evidence of working in multidisciplinary teams
  

• Advanced level skills in MRI / CT. X-Ray and US reporting.
  

• Good IT skills
  

• Good understanding of IRME principles and  interpretation of results in an acute care setting especially on call reporting.
