The post is a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) as a Locum Medical Oncologist specializing in Gynaecology (Gynae) and Urology Oncology. The role is centered on providing expert medical oncology care, participating in MDT meetings, managing inpatient care, and engaging in clinical trials. The position includes planning and supervising Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy, conducting review clinics, and ensuring patient care continuity.
Main Duties
- Patient Care: Manage Gynaecology Oncology patients, including attending MDT meetings, supervising inpatient care, and covering for Gynae Consultants during annual leave.
- Treatment Planning: Plan and supervise Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy treatments.
- Clinical Trials: Participate in the recruitment and management of clinical trials within the Gynaecology Oncology department.
- Teaching and Training: Actively engage in the education and clinical supervision of junior medical staff and allied health professionals.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with the Gynae MDT, including oncologists, advanced practitioners, nurse prescribers, and other specialists to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Administrative Duties: Participate in peer review meetings, support the Patient Triggered Follow Up (PTFU) pathway, and ensure adherence to the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements
This role is integral to the Oncology department's ongoing efforts to provide high-quality care and advance cancer treatment through research and clinical trials.
