Clinical Duties
|
- Conduct thorough patient examinations,
including medical and dental history review, to assess orthodontic needs.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based
on comprehensive diagnostic findings (cephalometric analysis, study models,
photographs, etc.).
- Administer a full spectrum of orthodontic
treatments:
- Fixed appliances (metal, ceramic,
self-ligating, lingual braces)
- Removable appliances (retainers, aligners,
functional appliances)
- Invisalign and other clear aligner systems
- Interceptive orthodontics for children and
adolescents
- Orthognathic surgical planning and
collaborative treatment with oral and maxillofacial surgeons.
- Place, adjust, and manage orthodontic
appliances, including bracket bonding, archwire placement, and activation.
- Monitor patient progress, making necessary
adjustments to treatment plans.
- Fabricate and deliver retainers.
- Educate patients and their families on oral
hygiene, appliance care, and treatment expectations.

Patient Care
|
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients of all
ages, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures in a clear and
professional manner.
- Address patient concerns and questions, ensuring a comfortable and
positive patient experience.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including
treatment plans, progress notes, and informed consent documentation.

Collaboration and Referrals
|
- Collaborate effectively with other dental professionals, including
general dentists, pediatric dentists, oral surgeons, and dental hygienists.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case
discussions to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Refer patients to other specialists when necessary.

Compliance and Professional Development
|
- Adhere to the guidelines and standards set by the Saudi Commission
for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Remain current with the latest advancements in orthodontics
through continuing medical education (CME) activities, conferences, and
relevant literature.
- Contribute to the advancement of orthodontic knowledge through
research activities (optional).
