Procurement Strategy & Implementation:
Develop and implement a procurement strategy to support the setup and operational needs of a new care home.
Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers for equipment, furniture, medical supplies, and other operational necessities.
Ensure procurement activities align with regulatory requirements, cost-efficiency goals, and high-quality standards.
Establish robust systems for managing vendor relationships and contract performance.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain strong relationships with all Local Authorities and Social Services in London to position the care home as a preferred provider.
Act as the primary liaison with stakeholders to understand and align with their commissioning needs.
Present the care home’s offerings and secure placement contracts to achieve targeted occupancy levels.
Business Development:
Identify and respond to opportunities for collaboration with public sector agencies and other relevant bodies.
Attend networking events, procurement meetings, and other forums to promote the care home’s services.
Work closely with the management team to design proposals, tenders, and presentations tailored to Local Authority requirements.
Compliance & Best Practices:
Ensure all procurement processes adhere to relevant policies, regulations, and standards, including health and safety and CQC guidelines.
Monitor market trends and legislative changes that may impact procurement or partnerships.
Implement sustainable and ethical procurement practices in line with the organization’s values.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
Track and report on procurement performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Analyse data on Local Authority referrals and placements to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Provide regular updates to senior management on procurement progress and stakeholder engagement outcomes.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in procurement or business development, ideally within the health and social care sector.
Strong track record of working with Local Authorities, Social Services, and commissioning bodies.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage procurement projects from planning to execution.
Knowledge of CQC standards and care home operational requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (CIPS or equivalent) is desirable.
Valid DBS check and right to work in the UK.
