Preoperative Assessment & Preparation
|
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery to determine the safest
anesthesia plan.
- Obtain informed consent and explain anesthesia options and
associated risks.
- Assess patient history, allergies, and potential
anesthesia-related complications.

Anesthesia Administration
|
- Administer general, regional, or local anesthesia as per surgical
requirements.
- Monitor vital signs, oxygenation, and depth of anesthesia during
procedures.
- Adjust anesthesia levels and medications to ensure patient
stability.
|
Intraoperative Monitoring
|
- Continuously track patient vital signs, including blood pressure,
heart rate, and respiration.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical
staff.
- Address any anesthesia-related complications or emergencies
promptly.
|
Postoperative Care & Pain Management
|
- Oversee patient recovery from anesthesia and manage postoperative
pain.
- Identify and treat adverse reactions or complications.
- Implement appropriate pain relief strategies, including nerve
blocks or medications.
|
Emergency & Critical Care
|
- Participate in Code Blue (cardiac
arrest) and trauma resuscitations.
- Provide sedation and pain
management for critical care and emergency cases.
- Assist in airway management and
advanced life support when required.

Documentation & Compliance
|
- Maintain accurate records of anesthesia
procedures and patient responses.
- Ensure adherence to hospital
policies, infection control protocols, and MOH regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement
initiatives and training programs.

Professional Development
|
- Stay updated on the latest advances
in Anesthesiology.
- Attend conferences and workshops
to maintain expertise and meet the SCFHS requirements for continuous
professional development.
