Patient Care
|
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurological conditions
including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, and
neuropathies.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including detailed
history-taking and neurological examinations.
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as EEG, EMG, MRI, and CT scans.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the
latest clinical guidelines.
- Provide acute and chronic care management for neurological
patients.
- Prescribe and monitor medications for neurological conditions
while considering potential drug interactions and side effects.
- Collaborate with neurosurgeons, radiologists, and rehabilitation
specialists to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Perform and interpret nerve conduction studies, lumbar punctures,
and other relevant procedures when required.

Emergency and Inpatient Care
|
- Manage emergency neurological conditions such as stroke and status
epilepticus.
- Supervise and participate in the care of hospitalized neurology
patients.
- Provide consultations to other medical departments regarding
neurological issues.

Clinical Collaboration
|
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including
neurosurgeons, radiologists, and primary care physicians, to provide
comprehensive care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient
cases and treatment strategies.
|
Education and Training
|
- Educate patients and their families about neurological conditions,
treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Mentor and train junior medical staff, residents, and interns.

Research and Development
|
- Stay updated with the latest
advancements in neurology and incorporate evidence-based practices into
patient care.
- Participate in clinical research
and contribute to the development of new treatment protocols.
|
Professional Development
|
- Stay updated on the latest
technologies, surgical techniques, and treatments in ophthalmology.
- Attend conferences and workshops
to maintain expertise and meet the SCFHS requirements for continuous
professional development.
|
Administrative Duties
|
- Maintain accurate medical records,
including patient histories, diagnoses, treatments, and surgical outcomes.
- Adhere to the ethical guidelines
and legal requirements set by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and SCFHS.
- Contribute to quality improvement
initiatives in the healthcare institution.
