Staff Nurse

Job Title: Assistant Nurse (Pflegeassistenz)

Location: VKKD Kliniken, Düsseldorf

Position Summary:

As an Assistant Nurse at VKKD Kliniken, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, providing essential support to registered nurses and ensuring the well-being of patients. Your role will involve assisting with daily patient care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care Assistance:
   

   • Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility.
     
   • Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions to the nursing staff.
     
   • Support patients in maintaining personal hygiene and comfort.
     

2. Clinical Support:
   

   • Assist in the preparation and delivery of medical supplies and equipment.
     
   • Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
     
   • Help nurses with wound care, dressing changes, and other basic medical procedures.
     

3. Documentation:
   

   • Accurately document patient information, including daily activities, intake/output, and changes in condition.
     
   • Ensure that patient records are updated in accordance with hospital policies.
     

4. Environment Maintenance:
   

   • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient rooms, including changing bed linens and disposing of waste.
     
   • Ensure the availability of necessary supplies in patient rooms and nursing stations.
     
   • Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
     

5. Communication:
   

   • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
     
   • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.
     
   • Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care planning.
     

6. Patient Transport:
   

   • Assist in transferring and transporting patients to different departments within the hospital.
     
   • Accompany patients during examinations or procedures as required.
     

Qualifications:

• Completed Ausbildung (training) as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent.
  
• Relevant experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
  
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care techniques.
  
• Proficiency in German; English language skills are an advantage.
  
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude.
  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  

Working Conditions:

• Full-time/Part-time shifts available, including weekends and holidays.
  
• Physical demands include lifting, standing, and moving patients.
