Main Duties/ Responsibilities for the Job:
Senior responsibility for clinical caseload, including delivery of general, emergency, and specialist clinics, as well as day case activity and on-call – during the day and out of hours.
• Effectively communicate both clinical and non-clinical matters to all levels of supporting staff, as well as patients.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of Ophthalmic services, across the Department
• Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care across the wider team, empowering and assisting others to deliver optimum services.
• Play an active part in the supervision, training, and development of the Ophthalmology team, including the provision of placement support for medical students.
• Participate effectively in departmental audits.
• Engage with requirements for Continuing Professional Development in accordance with guidelines set down by the Royal College.
